The stair stringers used to take support from the (cold) slab, but no more. They now hover above the floor so the Kingspan K3 floor insulation passes straight through to eliminate the cold bridge.
They will be reset on the screed once that goes down on Tuesday. With a bespoke duct work fixing strap to the utility room where the ducts are exposed. He offered us a choice of three screws (he's learnt how fussy we can be!).
Mike and Gary have spent this week remodelling the existing stair with blades and side panels to create a cupboard under it (handy storage space).

Upstairs the skim coat plaster is 75% complete, and the acoustic HushPly 28 boarding is down and ready to receive the Industrial Parquet flooring. Meanwhile the floor insulation is complete in the extension and soon will be in the main house in readiness for screeding next week.
The first floor joists and floorboards have been painted by the fabulous Cheshire Spray Painting. Two coats of Envirograf HW01/F white intumescent coating to provide 30 minutes fire resistance, followed by a top coat of Dulux's finest eggshell. Looks brighter.
